Cook Manager – School Catering

About the role

We are looking for a Cook Manager to lead the kitchen team at Rushall Primary School and Oakwood School, delivering fresh, seasonal meals to students each day. This hands‑on management position oversees daily operations, ensures high food standards and supports a friendly team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day running of the school kitchen.
• Lead, motivate and develop the catering team.
• Prepare and serve fresh, seasonal meals for pupils.
• Plan menus, manage stock and maintain food hygiene and safety standards.
• Liaise with onsite clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a kitchen, preferably in schools or high‑volume catering.
• Strong people‑management and leadership abilities.
• Organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with pride in maintaining high standards.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
