Corporate & Commercial Solicitor – Hybrid, £50k-£70k

About the role

An established South West law firm is expanding its Corporate & Commercial team and seeks an ambitious Associate Solicitor. The role offers hybrid working, exposure to a diverse client base ranging from start‑ups to large corporates, and the chance to develop long‑term relationships while supporting the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on business sales, acquisitions, mergers and reorganisations.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, trading terms, supply, distribution, manufacturing and consultancy agreements.
• Prepare shareholder agreements, joint venture documents and strategic partnership arrangements.
• Support clients with intellectual property matters, including licensing agreements.
• Provide day‑to‑day commercial advice to directors, shareholders and business owners.
• Manage an independent caseload efficiently.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England & Wales.
• Proven experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Strong analytical ability and commercial awareness.
• Excellent client communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to handle a varied workload and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Advising on mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructurings.
• Knowledge of intellectual property licensing.
• Understanding of shareholder and joint‑venture arrangements.
