Corporate Legal Consultant (4-10 PQE) – London

About the role

Peerpoint is A&O Shearman’s global platform that enables experienced corporate lawyers to work as self‑directed consultants on assignments typically lasting six months or longer. This role offers the chance to advise a range of clients on high‑value corporate matters while benefiting from the resources and support of a top‑tier law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Support a fintech start‑up with its launch, including licence acquisition, shareholder agreements and commercial contracts.
• Assist the ECM and M&A legal team of a leading investment bank on transaction work.
• Provide M&A advice to an investment‑management company.
• Contribute to corporate practice matters, focusing on M&A and ECM transactions.

Required profile

• Minimum two years post‑qualification experience at a top‑tier corporate law firm.
• Preferably recent in‑house experience at a leading financial services institution or corporate.
• Strong desire to manage one’s own career and professional development.
• Comfort with the consultant model and its differences from permanent employment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project‑management skills.
• Resilient, autonomous, with strong commercial acumen and a client‑service ethic.
• Valid practising certificate to practise law in the UK.
