Cost Engineering Placement – 12.5‑month Internship

About the role

Join Airbus’s Costing team for a 12.5‑month placement based in Filton, Bristol. You will support cost estimation and analysis for new aircraft systems, helping the company make value‑driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead personal and operational projects as part of project management activities.
• Provide cost estimates for new aircraft system designs and production, contributing to solution selection.
• Perform gap analysis between internal costing estimates and supplier quotes to support negotiations.
• Develop cost models, references, tools and methods.
• Communicate findings and updates to stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance cost estimation, project management and leadership skills.
• Travel to other Airbus sites or supplier locations when required.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Industrial Engineering or a related technical/business field.
• Motivated self‑starter able to work within a multi‑skilled, transnational team.
• Strong interest in design, manufacturing processes, global supply chain and business impact.
• Proactive learner with a keen desire to develop professional skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Commitment to Airbus values, ethics and compliance standards.

What we offer

• Salary of £24,246 per year.
