Cost Manager (Data Centre)

About the role

The Cost Manager will join the client’s Project Management team to lead cost planning and control for building and MEP installations across both routine and major capital projects in data centre environments. You will ensure value for money while upholding installation standards and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project budgets for building and MEP works and present them to commercial and project teams.
• Review and challenge scope, design, and tender information, feeding insights back to the Commercial Team.
• Convert the project budget into a detailed cost plan with cash‑flow forecasts and flag any deviations.
• Monitor project expenditure throughout the delivery phase.
• Collaborate with Procurement to support tender execution and contractor/supplier selection.
• Administer contracts, assess financial impacts, value materials, and track work progress for valuations.
• Evaluate contractor and supplier claims, Payless Notices, and extensions of time.
• Negotiate and prepare final accounts at practical and section completion.
• Prepare cost data for insurance claims and capital allowances.
• Raise PRFs and manage purchase order approvals in Coupa.
• Utilise the ASite document management system for all project documentation.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification (desired).
• Membership of a professional institute (desired).
• Experience in Data Centre M&E (desired).
• Minimum 5 years of cost management experience.
• Demonstrated competence through work experience or qualifications.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.
