Counsellor – Support Services for Cancer Patients

About the role
Tenovus Cancer Care is seeking a qualified, empathetic Counsellor to join its Support Services team. Working primarily from home, you will deliver virtual counselling to individuals and families affected by cancer, supporting them from diagnosis through end‑of‑life care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one virtual counselling sessions tailored to each client’s stage in the cancer journey.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of client interactions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Contribute ideas to develop and improve the counselling service.
- Attend occasional meetings at the Cardiff Head Office.
Required profile
- Current BACP (or equivalent) membership.
- Demonstrated experience as a counsellor, preferably with people facing chronic or life‑limiting health conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team‑oriented, flexible, and able to adapt to service needs.
Required skills
- Professional counselling qualifications and registration.
What we offer
- Salary of £31,000 per annum.
- Full‑time (35 hours/week) remote work with occasional travel to Cardiff.
- Funding secured until October 2027.
