Counterbalance Forklift Driver – Bedford (3‑Shift)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a fast‑paced manufacturing and warehousing operation in Bedford. You will play a vital part in moving materials efficiently across the site while supporting logistics and packaging activities on a rotating three‑shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate counterbalance and double‑fork trucks safely, completing all required health & safety checks.
• Load and unload vehicles, move empty containers and finished products throughout the site.
• Transport materials between warehouse, canning, and production areas.
• Perform FLT gas bottle changes and gas loading when required.
• Use SAP handheld devices to accurately record stock movements.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and hygiene.
• Support basic autonomous maintenance and report any equipment faults.
• Adhere to Quality, Food Safety, HACCP, Food Defence, and Health & Safety requirements.

Required profile

• Valid, accredited Counterbalance Forklift Licence (in‑date preferred).
• At least 2 years of forklift driving experience, including double counterbalance operation.
• Previous warehouse experience and willingness to perform general warehouse duties.
• Good physical fitness for manual handling and lifting.
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Effective written and spoken English communication.
• Reliable attendance and a positive, hardworking attitude.

• £34,048.02 per annum (visible salary)
