Multi-Drop Van Driver / Customer Service Assistant

About the role

Travis Perkins is hiring a Multi-Drop Van Driver / Customer Service Assistant for its Bedford branch. You will deal with customers both in the branch and while making deliveries, delivering a first-class service and keeping colleagues and customers safe. The post is full-time, fixed term, with 40 hours per week and Monday to Friday hours of 07:30 to 17:00, plus Saturdays every other week from 08:00 to 12:00.

Key responsibilities

• Drive transit and flatbed vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) to make multi-drop deliveries from the branch directly to local customers.
• Ensure customers receive their orders on time, safely and undamaged.
• Follow all stay-safe policies and procedures, especially when loading, unloading and driving.
• Provide a friendly, helpful service and build good relationships with customers.

Required profile

• Experienced driver with a minimum Cat B licence (up to 3.5 tonnes) held for at least 12 months.
• Ability to learn quickly, a strong work ethic and physical fitness.
• Exceptional customer service experience and health and safety awareness.
• Comfortable working both in the branch and on the road, able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
