Cover Supervisor – Flexible Secondary School Support

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Hartlepool and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible full‑time, part‑time or temporary assignments, with immediate start dates and competitive daily rates.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classrooms during teacher absence, maintaining order and focus.
• Deliver pre‑set lesson material and ensure students stay on task.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments, subjects and year groups.
• Provide behaviour management support and uphold safeguarding standards.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, coaching or similar settings (desirable but not essential).
• Confidence in managing a classroom and delivering pre‑planned work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage student behaviour.
• Flexibility to work across multiple secondary schools.
• No QTS required – suitable for graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced support staff.
