Cover Supervisor – Maternity Cover (Part‑Time, 1‑Year Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to provide maternity cover in a thriving secondary school within a respected academy trust in Buckinghamshire. This part‑time, fixed‑term position offers the chance to support high‑quality teaching and positive behaviour in a school recognised for its strong leadership and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff.
• Deliver pre‑set work and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Support students of varying abilities to stay engaged and on task.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence managing groups of students across a range of subjects.
• Strong interest in education and student development.
• Ability to create a calm, purposeful learning environment.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to wider school improvement.
• Experience in schools or a desire to pursue a teaching career is highly encouraged.
