Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Wirral)

About the role

Academics is seeking confident, resilient individuals to act as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across the Wirral area. You will step into classrooms when the regular teacher is absent, maintain order, and ensure that pre‑planned work is completed.

Key responsibilities

• Enter unfamiliar secondary school classrooms and instantly establish clear boundaries with teenagers.
• Apply school behaviour policies to de‑escalate disruption and keep students on‑task.
• Adapt quickly to different subjects and age groups throughout the day.
• Support pupils in completing the set work while maintaining a respectful atmosphere.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing groups of teenagers or working in high‑pressure environments such as sports coaching, youth work, military, security or behaviour intervention.
• Strong, commanding physical presence and excellent communication skills.
• Resilient, thick‑skinned and able to think on your feet.
• Willingness to hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
