Crane Operator – Ancillary (Defence Sector)

About the role

Join a leading defence and security organisation as an Ancillary Crane Operator, supporting submarine solution projects. The role is contract‑based and based in Barrow‑in‑Furness, requiring safe and efficient crane operation across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control cranes in line with safe working practices and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of crane equipment.
• Support various lifting operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide accurate and timely reports on crane activities and any issues.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a crane operator/controller within the defence sector, preferably with BAE Barrow projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant crane operation certification or qualification.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
