CT3 LAT Anaesthesia – 12 month post

About the role

The CT3 LAT Anaesthesia post is a 12‑month fixed‑term position starting in August 2026 at Ninewells Hospital. The role provides anaesthetic support for elective and emergency surgical services across NHS Tayside, including Perth Royal Infirmary and Stracathro Hospital, and includes structured training aligned with the Royal College of Anaesthetists Stage 1 curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe anaesthetic care for a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Provide intensive care support as required.
• Participate in obstetric anaesthesia duties.
• Rotate between Ninewells Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary and Stracathro Hospital.
• Engage in teaching, research and audit activities.
• Maintain compliance with RCoA competency assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months experience in anaesthesia or intensive care.
• Completed Royal College of Anaesthetists Initial Assessment of Anaesthetic Competencies (IAC) and obstetric anaesthesia (IACOA).
• Registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to practise.
• Educational and staffing approval confirmed by the Postgraduate Dean.
