Customer and Trading Manager - Nightshift

About the role

Sainsbury's is recruiting a Customer and Trading Manager for its Loughton store (IG10 4PE) on a full-time, permanent basis. The nightshift runs from 22:00 to 08:00, covering 4 nights per week, and the salary starts from £31,700. Nightshift managers receive a £4,500 premium on top of their base salary.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities, prioritising deliveries, organising the warehouse and restocking shelves
• Often run a full store operation alone overnight, responsible for the shift and the safety and wellbeing of colleagues
• Ensure store standards are excellent by morning so customers are served well
• Manage performance and capability, conduct disciplinaries and ensure scheduling and pay are accurate

Required profile

• Comfortable with nightshift work and able to cope with the physical and mental demands of overnight shifts
• Previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational environment
• Experience delivering and monitoring KPIs or other performance indicators
• Ability to handle employee relations issues such as performance and disciplinary matters
• Experience leading store operations in the absence of senior management
• Desirable: previous night-shift experience in a high-volume, operational environment
