Customer Quality Engineer

About the role

As a Customer Quality Engineer in a precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Burnley, you will ensure that products meet client specifications and quality standards, acting as the primary quality liaison for key customer accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of quality contact for specific customer accounts.
• Support the completion of 8D reports and MRB reviews.
• Chair weekly meetings to review non‑conforming product, customer returns, containment fallout and audit non‑conformances, driving data‑based improvements.
• Employ statistical tools such as process capability, measurement systems analysis and SPC to highlight risk and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Support new product introduction with PFMEA, control plans and other PPAP documentation.
• Manage internal calibration registers and participate in manufacturing process and system audits.

Required profile

• Previous quality engineering experience preferred.
• Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
• Experience with core quality tools (PFMEA, Control plan, PPAP, SPC, MSA, 8D, process capability) required.
• Professional qualifications in these tools preferred.
• Internal or lead auditor certification desirable.
• Working knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF 16949 required.
• Working knowledge of ISO14001 desirable.
