Customer Service Assistant – Retail

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Customer Service Assistant to join our One Stop store, a Tesco subsidiary. You will work in a fast‑paced convenience environment, helping customers, handling transactions and keeping the shop tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide friendly, efficient service to every customer.
• Operate tills, process payments and manage age‑restricted product sales.
• Stock shelves, replenish inventory and maintain a clean, organised store layout.
• Assist with online order pick‑ups, vending machines and post‑office duties where applicable.
• Support shift leaders and managers, stepping in to run the shift when required.
• Follow health, safety and security procedures, including wearing protective equipment.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about serving customers with pride and passion.
• Willing to work flexible retail hours, including weekends.
• Ability to follow training, policies and the "Think 25" age‑verification rule.
• Willing to undergo a Post Office financial and criminal background check if the store includes a Post Office.

Required skills

• Basic cash handling and point‑of‑sale (POS) operation.
• Ability to work safely and follow security procedures.
