Customer Service Assistant – Retail Store

About the role

We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our One Stop store. In this fast‑paced retail environment you will be the front‑line face of the business, ensuring shoppers receive friendly, efficient service every day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and encourage feedback through the ‘have your say’ survey.
• Operate tills and self‑service checkouts, handling cash and card transactions accurately.
• Stock shelves, replenish inventory, and maintain a clean, organised store layout.
• Assist with online order fulfilment, vending, and other store areas as needed.
• Follow health, safety and security procedures, including the Think 25 policy for age‑restricted products.
• Support seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
• Cover shift responsibilities in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager.
• If the store includes a Post Office, perform its daily operations and pass required background checks.

Required profile

• Passion for serving customers with pride and a natural service mindset.
• Willingness to work across all store areas and follow training on safety and policies.
• Ability to keep the store tidy, aisles clear and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Reliability in clocking in/out and adhering to security procedures.
