CwSW Education Officer

About the role

The CwSW Education Officer will support the Hertfordshire Virtual School’s Extended Duty Team, helping children known to a social worker progress educationally. Working closely with the Senior Strategic Lead, you will provide day‑to‑day administrative and strategic assistance across a busy virtual school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and record minutes at meetings, create and update action plans and trackers.
• Produce reports and compile data to aid prioritisation and task‑force deployment.
• Liaise with headteachers, designated safeguarding leads, classroom teachers, SENDCOs and social workers across Hertfordshire.
• Support the Education Hub by handling enquiries, requests and communications sensitively.
• Provide robust advice on educational concerns for children on Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.
• Book meetings, monitor events, track progress and develop new reporting templates.

Required profile

• Experienced support officer with a motivated, enthusiastic and organised approach.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, virtual school setting and match its tempo.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive attitude.
• Understanding of the Making SEND Everyone’s Business (MSEB) strategy.

What we offer

• Starting salary £38,220 progressing to £41,771 per annum.
• 37‑hour week on a Fixed‑Term Contract until 31 May 2027.
