Cyber Security Consultant – Microsoft 365 & Purview

About the role

The Bank of England’s Cyber Security Division is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Security Consultant to become the subject‑matter expert for Microsoft Purview Compliance. Working from our modern Leeds office in a hybrid model, you will help mature the Bank’s security controls across its M365 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical and advisory lead for Microsoft Purview Compliance across the organisation.
• Design, configure and advise on Purview capabilities such as audit, data loss prevention, information governance and compliance reporting.
• Translate policy, regulatory and risk requirements into effective M365 and Purview configurations.
• Support stakeholders in Technology, Cyber and wider business units, providing guidance on security, compliance and governance use cases.
• Contribute to the ongoing maturity of the Bank’s M365 security controls and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 security consultant or similar role.
• Ability to work autonomously and act as a trusted security adviser.
• Strong understanding of policy, regulatory and risk frameworks within a financial‑services context.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
