Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Provide cybersecurity engineering services for both classified and unclassified computer systems. Develop creative solutions to complex technical issues while maintaining required security postures. Collaborate with security monitoring teams to ensure logs are forwarded to SIEM capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new policies, design processes, and procedures in collaboration with customers and agencies.
• Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation measures, and test security products.
• Maintain and support security‑enforcing functions across environments.
• Work with monitoring teams to ensure effective log collection and SIEM integration.

Required profile

• Experience working on MOD or Home Office project environments.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities.
• Expertise in identity and access management (IAM), including RBAC and ABAC.
• Incident detection and response experience within MOD settings.

Required skills

• Network and system security knowledge (firewalls, IDS/IPS, micro‑segmentation, host security).
• Hands‑on experience with security products such as Trellix, Ivanti, ClearSwift, and Yubikey.
• Proficiency with SIEM integration and log forwarding.
• Secure coding practices.
• IAM concepts, RBAC, ABAC.
• Incident detection and response.
