Cyber Security Engineer – On-site (Huntingdon, UK)

About the role

Leidos is seeking multiple Cyber Security Engineers to work on‑site at a customer location in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The role involves protecting classified and unclassified networks, ensuring a robust security posture, and collaborating with engineering and monitoring teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative solutions to complex technical security issues.
• Work with engineering teams to maintain required security baselines.
• Ensure security logs are forwarded to the SIEM capability.
• Collaborate with customers and agencies to design policies, processes, and technical architectures.
• Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation, and validate secure configurations.
• Maintain and support security‑enforcing functions across the environment.

Required profile

• Experience working on MOD or Home Office projects.
• Strong knowledge of network and system security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, micro‑segmentation, and host security.
• Hands‑on experience with Trellix, Ivanti, ClearSwift, and Yubikey.
• Understanding of secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25).
• Expertise in identity and access management (RBAC, ABAC, JWT, cookie‑based authentication).
• Incident detection and response experience in MOD environments.
• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks such as NIST and CIS Benchmarks.
• Administrative‑level experience with Kubernetes and container security concepts.
