About the role
Bechtle is looking for a motivated 2nd Line Engineer to join its Northampton team. You will provide remote technical assistance to customers, act as a liaison between the Service Desk and field teams, and help ensure service level agreements are met.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 2nd line technical support for customer incidents and requests, both on‑site and remotely.
- Prioritise and resolve tickets quickly to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with 1st line, field, and 3rd line engineers to ensure seamless communication.
- Provide technical guidance to help‑desk staff and assist with managed‑services operations, including occasional weekend tasks.
- Support technical design, implementation, and documentation of customer projects and infrastructure.
- Maintain change‑control processes and accurate digital records.
- Assist in training and mentoring of service staff.
Required profile
- Proven experience in 2nd line IT support or a similar technical support role.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
- Commitment to meeting service level agreements and delivering high‑quality service.
