Data Analyst – Procurement Analytics

About the role

Proxima's Analytics team in Cardiff is looking for a Data Analyst to support its clients in procurement tenders. The role is hands-on and collaborative: you will work alongside consultants to analyse spend and supplier data, identify cost-saving opportunities and turn those insights into clear data visualisations. It is described as a practitioner-consultant position, not a passive learning role.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse commercial bids as part of a procurement tender process
• Analyse spend data and use client data to identify cost-saving and optimisation opportunities
• Assist consultants in spotting cost-saving opportunities in procurement
• Collate supplier responses using scenario-based tools and scorecards so consultants can compare cost savings
• Create data visualisation tools that support clients and automate or solve business problems
• Collate data, create visualisations for PowerPoint decks and optimise files
• Gather requirements with client stakeholders, communicate findings clearly and support workshops and day-to-day client interactions
• Work in a global, flexible model with hybrid client, home and office work, travelling as required

Required profile

• At least 6 months' experience in a similar role
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and creative flair for visualising data
• Ability to work under pressure, manage several tasks at once and handle ambiguous requirements
• Willingness to take constructive feedback, adapt to changing demands and travel as required
• Consulting mindset, accountability and a proactive, ownership-oriented approach
• Motivation to build a long-term consulting career in a growing global firm
