Data Architect – Charity/Not‑for‑Profit (Hybrid, London)

About the role

Our client, a charitable organisation, is seeking a hands‑on Data Architect to lead and own its data function. This hybrid role combines technical delivery with strategic leadership, ensuring data drives the organisation’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve a cloud‑hosted data warehouse built on Snowflake and Azure.
• Own the data governance model, including catalogues, lineage, role‑based access and quality metrics.
• Manage data ingestion pipelines and transformation workflows using Medallion and Kimball principles.
• Support reporting and insight generation through Power BI.
• Oversee the external data‑warehouse supplier and its engineers/architects.
• Lead data‑literacy initiatives and cultural change across the organisation.
• Ensure GDPR compliance and robust data‑security controls.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes and data modelling.
• Track record of managing vendors delivering hosted data‑warehouse solutions.
• Strong communication skills for both technical teams and senior non‑technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to embed data standards and governance across an organisation.

What we offer

• Salary £70,000–£80,000 per year, dependent on experience.
