Data Engineer – Cloud Platform (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a market‑leading organisation that is investing heavily in its data and technology capabilities. As a Data Engineer you will lead the design and delivery of a modern, cloud‑based data platform that underpins reporting, analytics and strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain a scalable cloud‑based data platform.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from ERP, transactional and other operational systems.
• Create high‑performance data solutions for reporting and analytics.
• Model data using dimensional techniques such as star schema and Data Vault.
• Evaluate and modernise existing data architecture to improve performance, scalability and governance.
• Ensure data governance, security and engineering best practices are applied.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.
• Strong SQL expertise with experience in both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hands‑on experience building cloud‑based data platforms, preferably on Azure.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with dimensional modelling, star schema and Data Vault methodologies.
