Data-focused IT Business Analyst

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking an experienced, data‑focused IT Business Analyst to join its Technology Delivery team at the Prescot head office. The role sits at the centre of a global digital transformation, bridging business operations, BI teams and IT leaders across more than 50 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops and interviews with senior stakeholders to capture functional, non‑functional and technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into Agile user stories, acceptance criteria and maintain a refined product backlog.
• Analyse current and future processes using BPMN and UML, perform gap analysis and data modelling.
• Partner with architects and development teams to evaluate solutions, write UAT scripts and lead user acceptance testing.
• Support business leads in building business cases and feasibility studies for new technology initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering Business Intelligence, analytics, data‑warehouse or data‑platform projects.
• Exceptional requirements‑gathering skills, including definition of KPIs, business rules and reporting needs.
• Ability to model and document end‑to‑end data flows, source‑to‑target mappings and system dependencies.
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation, especially in ambiguous data environments.
• Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
