Data Governance Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join a leading UK personal lines insurer. The role focuses on delivering and evolving metadata services that ensure data and AI products are trusted, well‑managed and easily discoverable across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of the metadata roadmap, taking ownership of specific deliverables.
• Develop new capabilities in Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog to raise data‑governance maturity.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Stewards to enable data delivery and quality governance outcomes.
• Demonstrate metadata tooling value to business stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities within data workflows.
• Coach stakeholders on the importance of business context in metadata management.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data‑governance best practices and metadata management.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a data‑governance role within the financial sector.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in clear, value‑focused language for non‑technical audiences.
• Ambitious, eager to learn and build technical expertise.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Collibra or similar metadata tools (Informatica, Atacama, Alation).
• Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog.
