Data Pipeline Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Data Pipeline Manager to join the team at Valpak on a permanent basis. This role offers primarily remote working, with occasional travel to our Stratford‑upon‑Avon office, typically once per quarter. You will lead a small team responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable data pipelines that support enterprise reporting and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with teams to ensure smooth transition of data through Qlik Talend.
• Establish an environment for Qlik Talend and GitHub to enable easy pipeline development.
• Allocate well‑defined requirements to Qlik Talend developers and act as escalation point for queries.
• Generate, improve and maintain automated Qlik Talend pipelines for each customer.
• Create reusable validation and transformation code toolkits.
• Integrate APIs and use Java for advanced data manipulation.
• Maintain data quality standards and prevent poor data from loading into databases.
• Use GitHub for source control and collaborate with account managers and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience with Qlik Talend or comparable ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, AWS Data Pipeline, SSIS).
• Management experience leading a technical team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Degree‑level education.
