Data Scientist – European eCommerce Analytics

About the role

Join the European Analytics Team at Lands’ End and help turn data into powerful business outcomes for a growing eCommerce business across the UK, Germany, France and Austria. This hands‑on, high‑impact role will apply advanced analytics and data science techniques to deepen customer understanding, optimise marketing performance and drive commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop predictive models such as customer lifetime value, propensity and response modelling.
• Apply segmentation and clustering techniques to refine customer targeting.
• Build attribution and measurement frameworks for marketing activity.
• Support pricing and promotional optimisation through quantitative analysis.
• Design and build reusable data‑science products and pipelines.
• Automate reporting and decision‑making tools.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT to scale solutions within the analytics ecosystem.
• Translate complex outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Partner with Marketing, Trading and Digital teams to drive measurable improvements in engagement, revenue and profitability.
• Act as a technical expert, promote best practices in statistical methods, experimentation and modelling, and help build a data‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Data Science or Advanced Analytics, preferably in retail, eCommerce or marketing.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business impact from data.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R and solid SQL expertise.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and cloud/data platforms.
• Solid understanding of statistical modelling, machine‑learning techniques and experimental design.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear analytical approaches.
• Excellent communication skills to convey insights to non‑technical audiences.
