Depot Operator

About the role

We are recruiting a Depot Operative to join our small team at the Theale Cement Depot. You will be responsible for the safe distribution and receipt of cement products by road and rail, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the bulk storage and out‑loading plant efficiently.
• Perform rail off‑loading and manage road dispatches.
• Collect and analyse production samples.
• Carry out regular health, safety, environment checks and maintain required records.
• Perform general cleaning, housekeeping and first‑line maintenance duties.
• Liaise with the admin supervisor on warehouse issues.
• Check documentation and physically inspect loads before departure.
• Maintain stock records and ensure the site profile meets high standards.

Required profile

• Some mechanical and/or electrical background.
• Strong focus on health and safety with a proven positive safety record.
• Ability to assess documents, mitigate risk and follow safe working practices.
• Commitment to delivering customer service to the highest standards.
