About the role
The company is seeking a Mandarin‑speaking Deputy Head of IT to support the Head of IT in shaping and delivering the firm’s technology strategy. This senior, office‑based position reports directly to the Head of IT and will act as their deputy when required.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Head of IT in designing, implementing and maintaining the overall IT strategy.
- Oversee IT operations including infrastructure, support, applications and cybersecurity to ensure system stability.
- Act as deputy for cybersecurity monitoring, threat management, incident response and improvement of protective controls.
- Assist with IT budgeting, cost control, vendor management and procurement.
- Collaborate with group IT to align policies, reporting and joint initiatives.
- Work with business units to identify technology needs and support solution implementation.
- Maintain and test Business Continuity Plans and participate in the Business Continuity Committee.
- Monitor team workload, allocate tasks and provide coaching, mentoring and training.
- Manage IT assets, suppliers and contractual relationships in line with procurement compliance.
- Lead or support IT projects, handling planning, resourcing, tracking, reporting and risk management.
- Prepare reports, KPIs and updates for senior management and the board.
- Act as deputy for the Head of IT during absences, handling escalations and operational oversight.
Required profile
- Fluent Mandarin language skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Extensive IT experience with proven team leadership and project delivery.
- Senior‑level experience managing infrastructure, cybersecurity and business continuity.
