About the role
Prospero Health & Social Care is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager of a children’s residential home in Newhaven, East Sussex. You will help ensure a safe, nurturing, and child‑centred environment while contributing to the home’s operational leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead shifts and supervise staff, ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
- Support staff development, reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, reviews and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain safeguarding procedures, respond to incidents and keep accurate records.
- Provide delegated operational leadership in the Registered Manager’s absence.
Required profile
- Previous experience in children’s residential care, particularly with SEMH needs.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to lead a team.
- Ideally hold a Level 5 qualification in Children’s Residential Care.
- Confident decision‑maker with a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
