Deputy Manager – Learning Disability Support Services

About the role

We are seeking a caring, dynamic and highly motivated Deputy Manager to support nine high‑quality learning disability services across Chorley and Wigan. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help maintain an overview of the services, lead a motivated team of support workers and contribute to service development.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility, under the direction of the Registered Manager, for the delivery of bespoke learning disability services.
• Coordinate service delivery to ensure support is tailored to each individual’s needs.
• Maintain accurate service records, rotas, timesheets and provide regular written feedback to line management.
• Manage and supervise Support Workers, Senior Support Workers and Service Coordinators, upholding the highest standards of care.
• Be based in one specific service three days a week and use the remaining two days for audits, tasks and ad‑hoc projects as directed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the social care sector supporting people with learning disabilities.
• Proven staff and service management experience.
• Person‑centred approach with a warm, confident and professional manner.
• Relevant professional qualification such as NVQ Level 3 (desirable).
• Strong vision, networking and organisational abilities to deliver excellent outcomes and promote community connections.
