Deputy Manager – Registered General Nurse (RGN)

About the role

Join Avery Healthcare Group as a Deputy Manager (RGN) at Birchmere House Care Home in Solihull. You will work closely with the General Manager to deliver person‑centred, high‑quality care for residents, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment while meeting statutory and commercial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inspirational leadership and day‑to‑day management for the care home staff team.
• Ensure medication policies are followed and support medication review and administration.
• Monitor resident wellbeing, identify changes, and update care plans accordingly.
• Complete monthly audits, quality indicator reports and any other required documentation.
• Attend weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas within the home.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with an active NMC PIN.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar care environment, preferably in a management role.
• Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Competent use of IT systems and adaptable to cover varied responsibilities at short notice.
