Deputy Residential Manager – Children’s Care Home

About the role

The Deputy Residential Manager supports the day‑to‑day operation of a children’s care home, ensuring a safe, secure and motivating environment for both staff and young people. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care for children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Residential Manager in overseeing all aspects of home operations and compliance.
• Supervise and support residential staff, fostering a positive team culture.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people, responding to emergencies and safeguarding concerns.
• Coordinate with psychologists, occupational therapists and other clinical professionals to implement care plans.
• Monitor attendance, behaviour and progress of young people, preparing relevant reports.
• Contribute to recruitment, training and performance appraisal processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in residential childcare, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) frameworks.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of care.
• Commitment to the wellbeing and development of children and young people.
