Deputy Technical Accounting Director – Contractor

About the role

We are partnering with a PE‑backed international business in the building solutions sector to find a highly analytical finance contractor. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will combine deep technical accounting expertise with data‑handling and finance transformation experience across a multi‑entity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting guidance on IFRS and UK GAAP matters and support implementation of new standards and policies.
• Lead or contribute to finance transformation projects focused on process redesign, controls, systems optimisation and reporting improvement.
• Manage, analyse and interpret large financial datasets using advanced Excel, ERP systems and reporting tools.
• Deliver clear financial insights to senior stakeholders and support strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee multi‑entity reconciliations, balance‑sheet governance and resolution of complex accounting issues.
• Support audit requirements, regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed best‑practice finance processes.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting experience in a complex, multi‑entity or international business.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Highly organised, detail‑driven and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in finance transformation, process improvement or systems optimisation is highly beneficial.
