Derivatives Associate

About the role

Norton Rose Fulbright, a global law firm with more than 3,000 lawyers, is expanding its Capital Markets team in London. It is looking for a mid-senior level Derivatives Associate to join a derivatives team that advises financial institutions, funds and corporates on complex, cross-border derivatives transactions, including structured derivatives, structured repo transactions, Sharia-compliant derivatives, repos, securities lending and credit risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside senior lawyers on a wide range of derivatives matters, conventional and Shariah-compliant
• Advise on structured derivatives and repo transactions, and on the negotiation and documentation of derivative products and structured finance transactions
• Handle regulatory matters
• Draft, review and negotiate complex legal agreements, including trade confirmations, ISDA master agreements, credit support documentation and derivative trading agreements

Required profile

• Qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales (candidates with experience from other jurisdictions may also be considered)
• Experience at a top-tier UK, US or international law firm, focused on derivatives and structured finance
• Strong academic background with a solid understanding of derivatives products and financial markets
• Experience drafting, negotiating and advising on ISDA agreements, master agreements and related documentation
