Design Coordinator / Assistant Design Manager – Oxford

About the role

We are partnering with a respected Oxford‑based main contractor to hire a Design Coordinator for a newly created position within their technical and design team. This full‑time role offers exposure to a wide range of construction projects, from early‑stage design coordination and pre‑construction through to live project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support design management across new build, refurbishment and technically challenging schemes.
• Coordinate drawings, design information, technical submissions and project documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Manage design queries, RFIs and information flow between design and site teams.
• Review design information for buildability, coordination issues and programme compliance.

Required profile

• Current experience as a Design Coordinator, Assistant Design Manager, Technical Coordinator, Architectural Technician, Design Technician or Assistant Project Manager.
• Desire to progress within a main‑contractor environment toward senior design management.
