About the role
We are seeking a Design Engineer with a background in automation or bespoke machinery to join a leading specialist company in Manchester. You will design, develop and assemble innovative automated equipment for sectors such as automotive and aerospace.
Key responsibilities
- Design and manufacture bespoke automation machinery, including conveyors and robotic assemblers.
- Take projects from concept through to completion, overseeing the full product lifecycle.
- Produce detailed 3‑D models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet functional, safety and manufacturability requirements.
- Perform hands‑on assembly, fitting and testing of prototypes.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer in automation, SPM or bespoke machinery.
- Hands‑on assembly and fitting expertise.
- SolidWorks proficiency with a strong understanding of CAD principles.

What we offer
- Competitive salary £50,000‑£60,000 per year.
