Design Engineer - Civil Structures

About the role

Robert Bird Group is seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to early‑stage civil and structural design on rail, highway, energy and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You will work on operational infrastructure such as bridges, stations and heavy civils, ensuring seamless integration across engineering disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for bridges, stations and related civil structures.
• Coordinate design efforts with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver cohesive project solutions.
• Support inspection, strengthening and replacement design of existing operational infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including Network Rail, to align design outcomes with project requirements.
