Design Engineer – Technical Services (Swindon)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join our Technical Services Team at our Swindon Head Office. You will lead design consultant activities, ensure deliverables meet programme and client requirements, and act as the technical lead for permanent works design.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design consultant activities and deliverables across one or more consultants.
• Track and report design inputs and outputs to the HOCHTIEF Project/Engineering Manager.
• Coordinate design queries, comments, and information from workshops and meetings, maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and subcontractors as required.
• Provide technical leadership for permanent works design unless a Design Manager is present.

Required profile

• Skilled and motivated Information/Design Engineer.
• Experience managing design consultancy deliverables and liaising with clients.
• Ability to work onsite full‑time during the probation period, with the option to work remotely one day per week thereafter.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
