Desk-Based Account Manager

About the role
We are a leading managed service provider delivering telecom and IT solutions to businesses across the UK. We are seeking a Desk‑Based Account Manager to join our fast‑paced team in Northampton. In this role you will be the primary commercial contact for an existing portfolio of customers, focusing on retention, growth and relationship management.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and grow relationships with assigned customers, ensuring contracts are renewed on time.
- Identify, qualify and pursue cross‑sell and upsell opportunities to increase revenue.
- Own the end‑to‑end renewal process, clearly communicating contract terms and recommending enhanced solutions.
- Support business development activities such as networking events, exhibitions and proactive outreach.
- Keep the CRM up to date with accurate records of interactions, renewals and pipeline forecasts.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of B2B account management experience, preferably in telecom or IT services.
- Strong verbal communication skills, especially on the phone.
- Customer‑focused, self‑motivated and solutions‑oriented.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining high standards of numeracy and literacy.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
- Experience using CRM systems to track customer activity and forecast pipelines.
