Desktop Support Engineer (L1) – Onsite – Coventry

About the role

We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer (L1) to provide on‑site end‑user computing support in Coventry. This back‑fill position ensures continuous coverage when the permanent engineer is unavailable, delivering reliable desktop and network assistance to business users.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site deskside support for hardware, software and network issues.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) and break/fix activities.
• Troubleshoot Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams and VPN connectivity problems.
• Configure and maintain laptops, desktops, printers and peripheral devices.
• Manage user accounts, password resets and group memberships via Active Directory.
• Support device imaging, software installations and basic endpoint management.
• Log and resolve incidents using the ITSM ticketing system, adhering to SLA and ITIL processes.
• Escalate complex issues to higher‑level support teams when required.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in desktop or end‑user computing support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Active Directory and basic networking concepts.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication and customer‑service skills.
• Experience working in an enterprise IT environment is preferred.
