Development and Income Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Development and Income Manager to lead fundraising and income‑generation activities for a well‑established community organisation. You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to secure long‑term financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and income‑generation strategy.
• Identify, research and secure funding from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, corporate partners and other sources.
• Prepare and submit high‑quality grant applications, tender bids and partnership proposals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, commissioners and key stakeholders.
• Develop corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and employee‑engagement programmes.
• Grow individual giving, community fundraising and unrestricted income.
• Maintain a robust funding pipeline and monitor income targets, deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with service managers to gather impact evidence and produce compelling funder reports.
• Represent the organisation at networking events, partnership meetings and sector forums.

Required profile

• Proven success securing funding from trusts, foundations, statutory funders and other grant‑making bodies.
• Experience writing successful funding bids, grant applications and tender submissions.
• Track record developing and delivering fundraising or income‑generation strategies.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with funders, corporate partners and stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication, proposal writing and presentation abilities.
• Strong organisational, planning and project‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and partners.
• Experience in the voluntary, charity or community sector.

• Competitive salary of £38,000‑£40,000 per year.
• Full‑time permanent contract (35 hours per week).
