Development Officer – Gardens, Libraries & Museums (Fundraiser)

About the role

The Development Officer – Gardens, Libraries & Museums (GLAM) will lead fundraising activities that secure philanthropic support for the University’s world‑class cultural assets. Working within Development and Alumni Engagement, you will build relationships with donors, trusts and foundations to preserve collections, expand access and enhance public engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and steward major donors for the Gardens, Libraries and Museums portfolio.
• Develop compelling proposals, case statements and stewardship plans aligned with university priorities.
• Collaborate with curatorial, academic and communications teams to create fundraising strategies and events.
• Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and fundraising pipelines.
• Monitor and report on progress against targets, providing insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in major‑gift fundraising or development, preferably within higher education or cultural institutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a talent for relationship building.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
