DevOps Engineer – Remote 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team on a six‑month contract. You will help maintain and enhance a large‑scale analytics platform, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server 2019+ environments supporting the analytics platform.
• Manage a mixed Windows and Linux server estate.
• Support and improve deployment pipelines and release processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimise environments and resolve technical blockers.
• Provide 3rd/4th line platform support and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Log, track, and escalate issues via internal ticketing systems.
• Work with infrastructure and technical controls teams to maintain security and compliance.
• Contribute to platform upgrades, migrations and ongoing maintenance.
• Recommend and implement improvements to operational processes and tooling.
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or later (performance tuning, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, security, troubleshooting).
• Experience managing Windows Server 2016/2019 environments.
• Proficiency with Windows .NET service administration, configuration management and monitoring.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Basic understanding of Active Directory and enterprise networking concepts.
• Ability to work with external vendors and technical support teams.
