Dietitian – Permanent Role at Ayrshire Central Hospital

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire and Arran are recruiting two dietitians to join the North Community Dietetic Team at Ayrshire Central Hospital. You will deliver high‑quality specialist dietetic services to adult patients with complex rehabilitation and long‑term health needs, working in a collaborative, caring and respectful environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist dietetic assessment and evidence‑based treatment for adults with multiple health conditions.
• Manage a diverse caseload autonomously, developing and adapting individualised nutrition care plans.
• Offer expert clinical input across areas such as malnutrition, diabetes, neurological conditions, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders and dysphagia.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and multi‑agency partners to ensure coordinated care and safe discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audit, service improvement and governance activities.
• Support day‑to‑day service delivery, including supervision of junior staff and students.
• Deliver education and training to patients, carers and other health and social care professionals.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Dietetics (or equivalent).
• Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
• Valid UK driving licence.
