Digital and Marketing Communications Officer

About the role

The Digital and Marketing Communications Officer will support the Office of the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner by creating engaging digital content and managing communications that raise public awareness. This hybrid role combines office‑based collaboration with remote work, offering a chance to influence community engagement for a vital public sector organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, upload and refresh website and social media content.
• Support media enquiries and draft press releases.
• Film, edit and produce video and photographic material featuring the Police and Crime Commissioner.
• Assist in planning and executing community campaigns.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design consultation strategies such as surveys and focus groups.
• Analyse media reach and online metrics to improve communication effectiveness.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in communications, marketing, PR or digital content production.
• Strong written communication skills for clear press releases and public messages.
• Understanding of social‑media strategies to boost engagement.
• Experience in front‑line media relations within a press office environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DSLR cameras.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.).
