Director, Custody Sanctions Product Management (Investor Services)

About the role

Citi is looking for a senior leader to build and run a best‑in‑class sanctions product function within its global Custody business. Reporting at director level, you will own the end‑to‑end sanctions product strategy, control framework, operating model and governance for a leading custodian bank.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the long‑term sanctions product strategy, ensuring technology and architecture stay policy‑compliant and commercially aligned.
• Own the Target Operating Model and Target Architecture, directing technology investments to meet regulatory and client requirements across global markets.
• Design and implement sanctions controls for new products, policy changes and evolving regulations, maintaining key governance documents such as Sanctions Product Risk Assessments.
• Lead end‑to‑end resolution of sanctions issues, acting as senior escalation point and coordinating Technology, Operations and control teams.
• Represent Citi as the authoritative Custody sanctions expert in client discussions, due‑diligence meetings and high‑profile transactions.
• Build, manage and develop a high‑performing Custody Sanctions product team, setting objectives and growing capability.
• Author and sponsor training programmes on sanctions compliance, fostering a strong compliance culture.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in product management, risk or operations within regulated financial services, preferably in securities services or a custodian bank.
• Deep knowledge of sanctions compliance frameworks, global transaction processing and regulatory requirements specific to custody and securities services.
• Proven ability to design and scale operating models and deliver change across technology and operational functions.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high‑performing teams.
