Director – Deals Tax & Due Diligence (Real Estate) – Partner Track

About the role

We are seeking a Director to build and lead a Transactions Tax Due Diligence practice with a real‑estate focus at a leading global law firm in London. The role offers a clear, sponsored route to partnership and the autonomy to design a modern, technology‑driven service from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver tax due‑diligence and structuring advice on real‑estate acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and fund transactions.
• Collaborate with corporate and real‑estate deal teams, providing tax expertise across asset and share deals, REITs and cross‑border structures.
• Develop and grow an external client portfolio alongside the firm’s internal deal flow.
• Integrate AI tools and technology‑led processes into the practice to enhance efficiency and insight.
• Shape hiring strategy and practice growth as the team expands.

Required profile

• Director‑level experience in deals/transactions tax, preferably within a Big 4, law firm or boutique specialising in tax due diligence.
• Proven business‑development record or strong ambition to win new work.
• Clear understanding of how AI tools can transform tax delivery.
• Motivation to build a practice rather than inherit one and a serious interest in partnership.

Required skills

• Tax due‑diligence for asset and share transactions.
• Real‑estate tax structuring, including REITs and fund vehicles.
• Cross‑border tax structures for corporate transactions.
• Use of AI‑driven tools in tax analysis and reporting.
